WebP to PNG Converter
Need to edit a WebP image, keep its transparency, or hand it to a tool that only accepts PNG? Converting WebP to PNG gives you a fully lossless, universally editable file. PNG is the standard interchange format for design tools, screenshots, and pixel-accurate work, and every editor from MS Paint to Photoshop opens it without plugins.

Supports JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, ICO, BMP, AVIF, WebP
PixConvert's WebP to PNG converter runs 100% in your browser. Drop in one file or a hundred, and each is decoded and re-encoded locally in seconds. Transparency is preserved exactly, so icons, logos, and cut-outs keep their alpha channel. Because PNG is lossless, there are no quality settings to worry about - the pixels you get are the pixels that were there.
Why convert WebP to PNG?
Truly lossless
PNG stores every pixel exactly. Converting WebP to PNG introduces zero additional quality loss, making it ideal as an intermediate step before editing.
Transparency kept
Alpha channels are transferred 1:1. Semi-transparent shadows and anti-aliased edges in WebP remain identical in the PNG output.
Editable anywhere
PNG is accepted by every image editor, office suite, and design tool. It is the safest format to hand to collaborators or downstream tools.
Batch-friendly
Queue up entire folders of WebP files and download all converted PNGs together as a ZIP archive.

Frequently asked questions
Is WebP to PNG conversion lossless?
The conversion itself is lossless - PNG stores the decoded pixels exactly. The only caveat is if the source WebP was saved with heavy lossy compression, those artifacts are already in the image and will be preserved, not created.
Will the PNG file be bigger than the WebP?
Almost certainly yes - that is the trade-off. PNG's lossless compression is less efficient than WebP. Expect 2-10x larger files, which is the price of universal editability and pixel-exact output.
Does transparency survive the conversion?
Yes, fully. The alpha channel is copied unchanged, so transparent and semi-transparent regions are identical in the PNG.
Why would I choose PNG over JPG for a WebP conversion?
Choose PNG when you need transparency, exact colors (screenshots, UI, diagrams), or plan to edit and re-save repeatedly - JPG degrades with every re-save, PNG does not.
Do I need to install anything?
No. PixConvert works entirely in your browser with no installs, accounts, or uploads. Just open the page and drop your files.
